Series 8 of record group 73-50 consists of hatcheries subject files of the division chief of the Fisheries Division of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources for the years 1966-1969. Includes a large amount of general correspondence about hatcheries, most of it replies to inquiries; correspondence pertaining to federal fish-planting projects in the state; reports and letters about state egg collection activities from various species of fish; correspondence regarding the planting of fish in selected waters; Division fish-planting statistics for designated bodies of water; reports and correspondence concerning fish disease and mortality, especially among fry and fingerlings; correspondence about, and orders for, fish food to be used at state hatcheries; and letters relating to sites for coho plantings.
